Cyberpunk 2077 Item Upgrading Guide
It is important to upgrade your equipment to maximize the potential of your gear. It allows you to add additional bonus stats over the value of your basic item.
Each upgrade template comes with a set of options which can be changed through the GUI. These options include the upgrading reference and the chance to upgrade.
Upgrade components
The process for upgrading weapons, armor and other equipment in Cyberpunk 2077 has been reworked as part of the 2.0 update. Upgrade components are scattered across Night City. The item you want to upgrade must also have an upgrade slot. The game will display an overview of the expected stats for the item after upgrading. It will also display the required component or material. If you do not have the required component or resource to upgrade an item, the button will show "Blocked."
Weapons and armor can be upgraded, along with a few trinkets and gathering tools. Upgrade slots can be filled on any item to give attribute bonuses or additional effects when the equipment is utilized. These upgrades are available through crafting, bought from a seller, or obtained as a reward.
There are two kinds of upgrade components such as universal upgrades and gems. Universal upgrades, which are like gemstones, can be placed in any kind of equipment, and provide less of a benefit than other upgrade components.
